In the video (below) a dog-like robot, affectionately named “Spot,” is portrayed as ‘man’s best friend’. The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) Officer states that the department’s $150K COVID “surveillance” and “mitigation” robotic dog, purchased on the taxpayer dime, is programmed for citizens’ safety.
“Spot” remotely checks the body temperatures of the homeless, without their knowledge or, permission, and with easy access since they are the most vulnerable. Then, “Spot” reports his findings back to the police. If “Spot” thinks someone has COVID then he can give that person water and other supplies while reporting the COVID suspect, as well.

In a Stars and Stripes news report (link below), Boston Dynamics, the same industrial war complex corporation that created “Spot,” shows off their DARPA line of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a Pentagon competition. The “competition,” was framed as a humanitarian effort. Presumably, the winner gets the Pentagon contract? If so, this process is called “bidding.” Perhaps it was labeled a fun competition to seem less threatening since the Pentagon usually does their bidding for weapons’ contracts.

In another article (link below), it was reported that University students, faculty, and some associated employees, are feeling “uneasy” and protesting Boston Dynamic’s DARPA robotic research. The AI DARPA research is sponsored by the Pentagon. I think that Elon Musk has been warning us about the possibility of AI becoming a threat to man. It looks like privacy may not be our only concern.
